Updating the Declaration of Independence

That tired old doc. desperately needs a re-write!

I just heard that Trump plans to attend the men’s championship tennis match at Arthur Ashe stadium this coming Sunday. Given his past behavior at other sporting events, he’ll probably lug his festering self down onto the court to present the winning trophy.
The interesting thing here is not whether he’ll actually do whatever he wants, go where-ever he chooses—He always does that. What I will be watching for (because it’s the real measure of the general level of public disgust in New York City) is the amount of boot-licking and ass-kissing that will be displayed by the players and announcers.
Would general booing from the stands be enough for Trump to invoke the War Powers Act and and send in the troops? We all know that he’s only looking for an excuse to get back at the city that turned on him when all he wanted was to be loved.

Before he and his entourage arrive, I think we need to prepare by updating The Declaration of Independence. The current document is way way out of date anyway.
It’s been so trashed and shredded (mostly by Trump) since it was originally composed and signed that now it's nothing more than a meaningless woke antique--a beat-up, rusting time capsule of concepts and principles that the majority of Americans—those that can read—don't understand or, even if they can, don’t really care about.

Taking into account the current state of American culture, intellect and politics--probably the best time and place for the re-stating of the US of A’s fundamental beliefs would be just after, or, possibly, during the Ultimate Fighting Championship Cage Match at Madison Square Garden. (We can keep some of the old language; it has a certain poetic ring to it).

Here's my initial contribution to the re-write:

"...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, AND, ABOVE ALL THESE, WE DECLARE THAT, FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, WE WILL BE NEVER SUBJECTED AGAIN TO THE IMAGE OR WORDS OF DONALD JOHN TRUMP..."
