Stop Making Sense!
Ridiculous People Need to be Ridiculed
Shock, Outrage, Critical Reasoning, Moral Reaction--none of this makes one bit of difference to The Donald-- But two things do make a difference-- One is the calm, collective gathering of millions of people who publicly display their disgust at what he says and does; the other is the increasing amount of inspired ridicule directed at him and his private army of Keystone Kops.
This underground urge to ridicule naked emperors has always been there, like a permanent political and social root fire... In modern autocracies, like North Korea, Russia, China, they arrest and kill people who dare to make fun of the government, but, in America, we still have the ability, the constitutional right--even the moral responsibility--to ridicule our “leaders.”
Voting someone in is not the same as sanctifying them.
In this country, no one is immune to ridicule. This ridicule is like armor-piercing ammunition; it penetrates the pathological layers these people use as defenses; it explodes their pomposity and publicizes their narcissism. Trump and his traveling circus of ass-kissers and boot-lickers are being ridiculed because they are, first and foremost--no matter what else they are--RIDICULOUS.
We have to do everything we can to get rid of these people, march, vote, protest, organize—but the our ability to just make fun of these people should never be undervalued. Like vampires in the light of day, they will wither and die--and die all the more quickly--if we reveal them to be the silly, sorry excuses for human beings that they are...
